My Year in Photos 2012
Typical of some of the statues at Green-Wood. Many are weathered, and missing parts. I still think she’s beautiful.
She does have an aura of serenity about her.
And ageless! Wonderful!
beautiful shot, seems as if the statue were thinking of past times
Green is definitely her color. Nice shot!
Lots of character. Nice close-up.
The weathered beauty of the statue is enhanced by the focused close-up and the background muted.
Like the perspective and the details in this peeling face!
There is something very beautiful about a weathered statue of a woman. I always wonder who she was.
She is beautiful. I love the DOF that you have achieved in the background. Fabulous.
She is lovely. I love the detail.
Weathered and missing parts make the statue. Anything less would make it a mannequin. I would give this animated hand claps if I had the ability to do so.
that’s so sweet! I hereby take back everything I said about you 🙂
Beautiful statue. I love how she stands out from the sky. Very serene.
Beautiful and serene. Great DOF again, I love the lacy pattern of the tree branches
The moss and the weathering only add to her serene lovliness.
Very beautiful watching over her deceased person(s). Somehow modern memorials just don’t show the same emotion as these vintage cemetery figures.
Such a beautiful image, I agree with Karen about modern memorials not having the same impact… I do like to see the old ones, and the weathered ones…. this is both 🙂
