Smack dab in the middle of a row of gorgeous buildings which are selling for $3-6MM, there are two abandoned houses next to each other. I am guessing they are owned by the same person. During the ’70s those streets went through some tough times with lots of drug activity, but now they are completely gentrified and worth a fortune.

So, for today’s theme, I give you “barren”.

  1. Wow, beautiful building even if it is in disrepair. I’ll bet it has great bones inside! Thank you sharing. So sad to see it that way. I hope someone buys it and looks after it. It is a real treasure. Nice shot! It really draws me in as you can tell. lol

  2. I love this…the neglected steps leading up to that once loved front door! This is so full of character…I wish the walls talked to tell us it’s story..I am sure it has had some exciting times w/ the drug dealers etc lol Awesome capture and wonderful crop!

  3. Now this is most excellent. This is what I think of when I think of Big City. So much character. So many stories the door could tell.

  4. Wonderful shot of the disrepair and neglect, but what a world of potential. Great urban image. Why don’t you snag one or both of them for your portfolio??

  5. very nice for the theme and I do like the beautiful door and fence (right word?…) on the stairs. will be great when renovated, hope someone does that with care to leave the feeling of this house

  6. It’s so sad to see homes that were once so glorious in such a state of abandonment and desolation. You’ve captered that dichotomy very well.

  7. I would love to go inside and explore with my camera…can you arrange that Gisele…or did you take the liberties already yourself:)
